Samburu & Buffalo Springs
Snaking through the arid lands of Northern Kenya, the Ewaso Nyiro River is the lifeblood of the region, drawing great numbers of wildlife to its banks and creating a green oasis in an otherwise parched landscape.
Samburu National Reserve and Buffalo Springs National Reserve are two parts of the same ecosystem, one on either bank of the Ewaso Nyiro River. In this arid region, species found nowhere else in Kenya thrive – Gerenuks, Somali Ostriches, Beisa Oryx, Grevy’s Zebra and Reticulated Giraffe. The landscape also provides excellent cover for predators, such as lions and leopards, and the river draws in large herds of elephant as well.
ELEPHANT BEDROOM
Commanding an excellent location on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River, Elephant Bedroom Camp is one of the best camps in the reserve. With elephants wandering through camp regularly, there’s never a dull moment here.

SARUNI SAMBURU
Set high on a granite outcrop in the Kalama Conservancy, Saruni Samburu has breathtaking views over the entire Samburu Reserve. The views alone would warrant a visit, but with extremely stylish and comfortable suites, excellent food, and a knack for guiding, this lodge is an all-time favorite.
